Ace Hi Resources was formed in 2019 It was founded by a group of success driven Colorado School of Mines alumni with a broad range of experience across the industry Ace Hi’s team has cradle to grave experience in conventional and unconventional reservoirs This includes operator and service industry experience covering many basins within the United States, as well as multiple international locations, in roles ranging from Drilling, Completions, and Production design and management, to Workover and Drill site management

The managing partners have known each other for over 20 years and have worked together in various capacities throughout their careers Most recently, the core team built two separate startups for outside principals before deciding to venture out on their own.

In addition to traditional office consulting engineering, Ace-Hi Operating offers rigsite workover, drilling, and completion supervision using our engineering staff.

Rees Arnim
Managing Partner

Rees Arnim has held management and operational engineering roles in the United States and internationally. While working for QRI, Marathon Oil, Encana Oil & Gas and Southwestern Energy, Rees gained extensive experience in the exploration, development and production of unconventional and conventional reservoirs covering Texas, Arkansas, Colorado, Oklahoma, Utah, and Louisiana, as well as international assets in Iraq. He has lead teams developing both vertical and horizontal assets.

Rees earned a BS in Petroleum Engineering from Colorado School of Mines, Golden, Colorado.

Dan Benedict
Managing Partner

Daniel Benedict is a petroleum engineer who has managed production and enhancement programs in Texas, Utah, Wyoming, and Colorado. He specializes in artificial lift optimization. Daniel gained his experience at Citation Oil & Gas, Double Eagle Petroleum, the Aspen Companies and Baker Hughes.

Daniel has BS and MS in Petroleum Engineering, from Colorado School of Mines, Golden, Colorado. He is a member of SPE, and author of SPE paper 119355, titled “The Effects of Hydraulic Fracture Reorientation in Lenticular Reservoirs.”

Kyle Scott
Managing Partner

Kyle Scott has worked in the oil and gas industry with both service and E&P companies in engineering and field operations. He held multiple roles in cementing at Halliburton before joining Ultra Resources as a Sr Drilling Engineer, where he oversaw the drilling of over 250 wells in the Pinedale Anticline. Kyle has consulting experience in drilling and workover operations in the Permian, Haynesville, Eagle Ford, Wyoming, and Utah.

Kyle earned his BS in Chemical Engineering from Colorado School of Mines, Golden, Colorado.

  • Pioneered the Fayetteville Shale, increasing production to 1 Bcfd in 5 years

  • Reversed decline and grew production in brownfield Uinta properties through approach to paraffin and pump design

  • Operations program management in challenging regulatory environments from BLM, State Forest, and National Park Service.

  • Managed waterfloods in Oklahoma, Texas, and Utah

  • Operations management for a 140k BOPD field in Iraq

  • Drilled over 250 wells in Wyoming
